How to Layer Marula Oil Into Your Skincare Routine

Facial oil confuses a lot of people. Where does it go? Before or after moisturiser? Morning or night? Can dry skin and oily skin both use it?

Here's the simple guide.

**The golden rule: thinnest to thickest**
Apply skincare in order of consistency — lightest formulas first, heavier ones last. This means toner → serum → oil → moisturiser → SPF (morning only).

**Morning routine**
After cleansing and toning, warm 2–3 drops of Tasai Essential Marula Oil between your palms and press into your face and neck. Follow immediately with your SPF moisturiser. The oil creates a protective layer that helps lock hydration in throughout the day.

**Night routine**
Night is when your skin regenerates most actively, making it the ideal time for oil. Apply after serums, pressing gently into the skin with upward strokes. You can use Marula oil alone as your final step, or layer a light moisturiser on top.

**Oily or acne-prone skin?**
Counterintuitively, the right facial oil can help regulate sebum production. Marula's high oleic acid content communicates to skin that it doesn't need to overproduce its own oil. Start with 1–2 drops every other night and see how your skin responds.

**Dry or mature skin?**
Use morning and night without hesitation. Marula oil is one of the most compatible botanical oils with human sebum, absorbing quickly and deeply.
